Paneer tikka-turbantaste

Paneer tikka-TURBANTASTE is an Northern Indian dish made frorm  paneer & marinated it in spices & masalas coated with hung curd  and grilled in a tandoor( a large clay oven ). It is a vegetarian alternative to chicken tikka and other non-veg tandoori  dishes. It is a popular dish that is widely available in India and countries where Indian has migrated.

Paneer tikka is a North Indian appetizer The term paneer refers to Indian cottage cheese and tikka translates to chunks of grilled meat, or a vegetarian option, in this case it is the paneer

How healthy a paneer tikka is ?

Paneer is a combination of little it of  protein and fat. It is low in carbohydrate. Paneer tikka is a dish in which marinated paneer is cooked on tardoor (barbeque) involving a little added fat & calories .But Panner tikka is a healthy option but not in extreme .

INGREDIENTS OF PANEER TIKKA ?

Paneer tikka-turbantaste

Ingredients:

-1 cup diced paneer (cottage cheese)

-2-3 tablespoons plain yogurt

-1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice

-1 teaspoon chili powder

-1 teaspoon garam masala

-1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

-1/2 teaspoon cumin powder

-1/2 teaspoon coriander powder

-1/4 teaspoon salt or as per taste

-3 tablespoons vegetable oil

-1/4 cup diced onion

-1/4 cup diced bell peppers

-2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves

Instructions:

1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the diced paneer, yogurt, lemon juice, chili powder, garam masala, smoked paprika, cumin, coriander, and salt. Mix together until the paneer is evenly coated in the marinade. Cover it with plastic wrap or foil  and refrigerate it  for 30 minutes.

2. TAKE a pan heat the oil in a medium flame. Add the diced onion and bell peppers, and cook for 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are soft and lightly browned.

3. Add the marinated paneer to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until lightly browned.

4. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve. Enjoy!.
